Bistro Bella Vita

The downtown institution. Homemade pasta, an Advanced Sommelier's wine list, and a room that has hosted three decades of anniversaries.

White-tablecloth energy but genuinely welcoming | early weeknight dinners with kids work fine. Lunch runs weekdays from 11.

Steps from Van Andel Arena | event nights the 5 to 7 seating is wall-to-wall pre-show. American Apéro happy hour 2 to 4 weekdays is the industry secret.

Bistro Bella Vita has anchored downtown dining since the 1990s and refuses to coast on it | GR Magazine has put it in the Best Restaurants issue every year for more than a decade. The kitchen runs modern French and Italian from scratch: homemade pasta, brick-oven pizzas, rotisserie meats, and desserts made in-house.

The beverage program is a genuine differentiator | Old and New World wines curated by an Advanced Sommelier, and American Apéro (their happy hour) runs weekdays 2 to 4 with $5 drafts, spritzes, and $13 pizzas.

Four private rooms | including a VIP cellar table | handle everything from rehearsal dinners to company parties.
