Men at Work with Toad the Wet Sprocket and Shonen Knife at Meijer Gardens

Lawn seats, a sunset, and Down Under sung by the man himself. Bring a blanket and get there early | the good lawn spots go fast.

One of the gentlest big-show settings in town. Kids can sprawl on the lawn, and the sculpture park is worth arriving early for.

East Beltline exit backs up from 6:15. Gardens shows end by 10 and the lot clears in 25 minutes | one clean surge, then done.

The Fifth Third Bank Summer Concerts series brings a stacked triple bill to the Meijer Gardens amphitheater on Wednesday, August 5: Men at Work, Toad the Wet Sprocket, and Shonen Knife.

This is part of the Gardens’ biggest summer schedule ever | 34 shows between late May and mid September. Shows start at 7 PM unless otherwise noted. The amphitheater holds about 2,000 on a sloped lawn, and no seat is a bad one.

Outside food is allowed at Gardens shows (no alcohol carry-in), which makes this one of the best picnic-and-a-show settings in Michigan.
